San Vigilio di Marebbe is a paradise of colours, set in the Dolomites, described by many as nature’s most beautiful architectural work. It is situated at 1,200 metres in the heart of imposing mountains rich in coniferous forests, meadows and hilly pastures.
 For over 100 years, tourism has been the mainstay here. Mountain, nature park, legends, summer is colourful, while in winter you can experience all the colours of white: skiing, snowboarding, ski touring, cross-country skiing, sledging, snowshoeing. The Plan de Corones ski area, part of the Dolomiti Superski, and the Fanes-Senes-Braies nature park are the two greatest assets and attractions on which the area’s tourist offer is focused. The 1,200 inhabitants of Al Plan de Mareo, as San Vigilio is called by the locals, as well as being very attentive to the needs of their guests, whether families, individuals or groups, are devotees of Ladin, an ancient idiom dating back to Roman times. The appearance of the village is typical of the mountains, with its small, very wooden houses and simple architecture. The baroque parish church is the undisputed centre, with its small square inviting you to stop, sit down, read the newspaper. All around is plenty of greenery, unspoilt nature, dense forests, meadows. In winter, the snow covers everything with an enchanting white mantle.
